For EWI / render board substrates, prime first with an acrylic primer to reduce suction
Joint width affects pointing quantity significantly - increase the kg/m² figure for wider joints
Pointing mortar: use an alkali-resistant, frost-proof mix outdoors - standard sand:cement is not recommended for slips
