Alexandra Palace and Park (Grade II*, Metropolitan Open Land) is the most significant heritage and open space asset. Tottenham Hale is a major housing growth area and Crossrail 2 safeguarding may affect development in the corridor. High Road West regeneration and Northumberland Park are further growth locations. The Lee Valley Regional Park runs along the eastern boundary.

Alexandra Palace (Grade II*) is the borough's defining landmark - the Victorian people's palace on its hill, recently the subject of a major restoration programme. The Muswell Hill conservation area is among the finest Edwardian suburb townscapes in London. Bruce Castle (Grade I, local museum) and St Mary the Virgin Church, Hornsey (Grade I tower) are significant listed buildings. Listed Building Consent is required in addition to planning permission for any works to a listed building that would affect its special architectural or historic interest, including internal works.

Flood risk in Haringey is primarily associated with the River Lee and Pymmes Brook in the east, and the New River course. Properties near these watercourses in Tottenham and Edmonton should be checked carefully. Surface water flooding is a significant risk across the borough after heavy rainfall, given limited green space and drainage capacity.
