Home batteries store surplus solar generation or cheap off-peak electricity for use during peak demand periods, reducing grid electricity imports. NICEIC or NAPIT Part P Registered

Battery storage is a notifiable electrical installation. The installer must be registered with a competent person scheme to self-certify the electrical work under Part P Building Regulations.

Manufacturer Product Certification

Leading battery brands including Tesla Powerwall, GivEnergy and Growatt require installers to hold manufacturer product training before they are permitted to install and warranty-register those products.

Always ask for evidence of Public Liability Insurance before appointing. MCS certification requires installers to hold adequate PLI as a condition of registration.
