Do I need planning permission for a home lift?
Internal home lifts typically require Building Regulations approval but not planning permission, as they are internal alterations. However, if the lift requires a new external shaft or changes the external appearance of the building, planning permission may be needed. For listed buildings, listed building consent is required.
